LASR strives to provide computer training classes to all community members who need to improve their computer skills for them to be competitive on the job market. Computer learners will acquire basic word processing, Excel, PowerPoint presentations, internet skills as well as accounting programs. The computer lab will also be used for Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the future. Likewise, LASR clients for job placement will use the facility to write and edit their resumes with the help of LASR employment placement specialists.

LASR is a non-profit organization that offers critical services to refugees and immigrants escaping conflict, terror, massacre, and persecution to build a new life of dignity, safety, and to be self-sufficient.. Nearly 1 in 100 people worldwide have been driven from their homes. 20 million refugees mostly women and children are fleeing the terror/calamity we see unfolding around the world.
Teach refugees English, the single most important skill for integration, and help them secure a job to provide for their families •
Provide after-school programming and summer camp activities to help refugee youth catch up with their classmates
Translation/ Interpretation Services
Louisiana African Solidarity Response (LASR) offers both translation and/or interpretation of some African languages into the English language and vice versa. Translation and/or interpretation are conducted by experienced interpreters who are internationally recognized. Services are provided free of charge. LASR Provide staff who speak 10 languages to help refugees navigate their first 12-months in Louisiana
